{"id":1648,"date":"2026-02-20T09:22:41","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.forgenderseal.org\/?p=1648"},"modified":"2026-02-20T09:37:33","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T09:37:33","slug":"san-xoan-de-rio-a-municipality-committed-to-equality-sg-city50-50-badge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.forgenderseal.org\/en\/san-xoan-de-rio-a-municipality-committed-to-equality-sg-city50-50-badge\/","title":{"rendered":"San Xo\u00e1n de R\u00edo, a municipality committed to Equality \u2013 SG CITY50-50 Badge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 19, the ceremony for the Delivery of the SG CITY 50-50 Distinctive for <strong>Gender Equality<\/strong> at the Municipal level took place in the municipality of San Xo\u00e1n de R\u00edo (Galicia) within the framework of the <strong>DIGECP project,<\/strong> which has the support of the <strong>European Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel P\u00e9rez<\/strong>, our <strong>Forgender Seal<\/strong> colleague in Galicia, presented the badge to the mayor of the city, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Miguel Perez Blecua and the municipal equality technician, Geanina Lascu.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forgenderseal.org\/en\/new-project-co-financed-by-the-european-union-to-promote-gender-equality-in-local-policies\/\">DIGECP project <\/a>establishes a certification standard designed in accordance with municipal competencies, state regulations and international treaties on gender equality and human rights.<\/p>\n<p>Through an evaluation and certification process, municipalities obtain the Gender Equality Badge, which will allow them to access resources and visibility as administrations committed to gender equality.<\/p>\n<p>The project is creating a <strong>Network of Municipalities for Gender Equality<\/strong> and <strong>Corresponsibility<\/strong> in the Use of Time, promoting the exchange of good practices and collaborative learning between administrations in the local world.<\/p>\n<p>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forgenderseal.org\/en\/new-project-co-financed-by-the-european-union-to-promote-gender-equality-in-local-policies\/\">DIGECP\u00a0 Project <\/a>we promote local policies that promote co-responsibility and build fairer and more sustainable municipalities.
