When municipalities connect, policies transform.

The DIGECP Network brings together municipalities that collaborate, share learning and design feminist and coresponsible public policies. Every experience count, every practice adds up. We invite all local entities committed to equality to be part of this living space of cooperation. This collaboration offers a more adjusted response to the diversity of realities and needs of citizens, as well as the social context of each territory.

Importance of networking

The joint work promoted by different municipalities promotes convergence in basic public services, such as education, health or social protection, ensuring that all people enjoy the same opportunities, regardless of where they live. The constructive collaboration between urban and rural municipalities, through a pedagogy of institutional collaboration, contributes to overcoming structural inequalities and guaranteeing equal rights.

Effective management of equality policies

Municipal interconnection facilitates the creation of spaces for exchange and mutual training, which are fundamental to designing, implementing, and evaluating equality policies that are better adapted to current challenges. This process enables good practices to be transferred between administrations, improves the efficiency with which resources are used, and generates a more participatory dimension in the development of equality plans and programs. Coordination between different municipal actors increases the capacity to impact social reality and the transversality of the gender approach.

Social and institutional impact

Networking supports the monitoring and continuous evaluation of equality plans, allowing mismatches or shortcomings in the implementation of policies to be corrected. Coordinated actions multiply institutional impact, strengthen equality structures and ensure access to specialized gender resources. They also promote citizen participation and political commitment, which are decisive elements in consolidating progress in equality at the local level.

In short, networking between municipalities is a strategic tool that enables progress towards a fairer, more equitable and cohesive society in which equal opportunities for women and men are a reality.
