Last February, the SG CITY 50-50 Gender Equality Award ceremony for municipalities was held in the town of Malpica de Bergantiños (Galicia) as part of the DIGECP project, which is supported by the European Union.
José Manuel Pérez, our Forgender Seal partner in Galicia, presented the award to the mayor of the city, Eduardo Parga, and the councilor for equality, Marisol Blanco.
The DIGECP project establishes a certification standard designed in accordance with municipal powers, state regulations, and international treaties on gender equality and human rights.
Through an evaluation and certification process, municipalities obtain the Gender Equality Distinction, which will allow them to access resources and visibility as administrations committed to gender equality.
The project is creating a Network of Municipalities for Gender Equality and Shared Corresponsibility in the Use of Time, promoting the exchange of good practices and collaborative learning between local administrations.
Through the DIGECP Project, we promote local policies that foster shared responsibility and build fairer and more sustainable municipalities. With the support of the European Union and the collaboration of INDA Iniciativas SL.
