On February 19, the ceremony for the Delivery of the SG CITY 50-50 Distinctive for Gender Equality at the Municipal level took place in the municipality of San Xoán de Río (Galicia) within the framework of the DIGECP project, which has the support of the European Union.
José Manuel Pérez, our Forgender Seal colleague in Galicia, presented the badge to the mayor of the city, José Miguel Perez Blecua and the municipal equality technician, Geanina Lascu.
The DIGECP project establishes a certification standard designed in accordance with municipal competencies, state regulations and international treaties on gender equality and human rights.
Through an evaluation and certification process, municipalities obtain the Gender Equality Badge, which will allow them to access resources and visibility as administrations committed to gender equality.
The project is creating a Network of Municipalities for Gender Equality and Corresponsibility in the Use of Time, promoting the exchange of good practices and collaborative learning between administrations in the local world.
From the DIGECP Project we promote local policies that promote co-responsibility and build fairer and more sustainable municipalities. With the support of the European Union and the collaboration of INDA Iniciativas SL.
